What is Rope Access?

Construction on Ropes. A form of work positioning, initially developed from techniques used in climbing and caving, which applies practical ropework to allow workers to access difficult to reach locations. A modern alternative to traditional techniques such as scaffolding, cradles and MEWPs.

A safe method of working at height, where ropes and associated equipment are used to gain access to and from the work position.
